The Scandi-Toronto House
Located along the historic escarpment of Davenport, Toronto, this project involved the complete interior reconfiguration of a detached residence. The intervention sought to strip away years of compartmentalized living to reveal a fluid, light-filled "atmosphere" that prioritizes spatial volume and material honesty.
The architectural heart of the home is a series of interconnected social spaces defined by a monochromatic base and warm white oak. Strategic structural alterations allowed for the installation of oversized black-framed glazing, creating a seamless visual bridge to the private rear garden. From the minimalist kitchen with its integrated walnut cabinetry to the serene, gallery-like bedrooms, every detail was designed to foster a sense of domestic tranquility. This project is a testament to how surgical interior alterations can fundamentally transform the experience of "home" in the city.
